The service
Pratnome is a metronome for musicians: a fixed tempo, a tempo that changes on its own every few bars, silence training, and practice programs made of steps. It is free, and an account is optional. The phone apps work without an internet connection, and so does the web app once it has been opened; syncing with an account needs a connection.
Using Pratnome
You may use Pratnome for your own practice and for teaching music. You may not:
- copy, modify, sell or redistribute the apps or this website, except where the law allows it;
- reverse engineer the apps, except where the law allows it;
- use Pratnome unlawfully, or in a way that harms the service or other people.
Your programs
What you create is yours. Without an account it is stored only on your device (see the Privacy Policy), so keeping it is up to you: uninstalling the app, clearing your browser's data or using a private window can erase it. With an account, a copy is kept in your account until you delete it. The web app's backup file and program sharing help you keep copies too.
When you share a program, you are responsible for what you share. A program you import from someone else is used as you receive it.
Your account
An account is optional. Keep your password to yourself and use an email address you can receive mail at; you are responsible for what happens in your account. You can delete it at any time in the app. We may suspend or delete an account that is used to harm the service or other people, and we may end accounts together with the service (see “Changes and ending”); we will not delete an account for any other reason without telling you first.
Your hearing
Keep the volume at a comfortable level, especially with headphones, and take breaks: long practice at a high volume can harm your hearing.
No warranty
Pratnome is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work hard on timing accuracy, but we do not promise that it will be free of errors or interruptions, or that timing will be exact on every device and browser. For example, timing can drift under heavy load or on older devices, and sound stops when the screen locks in a mobile browser or while the Android app is in the background.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for loss of data, arising from using Pratnome or from being unable to use it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited.
Advertising
Pratnome shows ads from Google. We do not create or control their content and are not responsible for advertisers' products or claims. Tapping an ad may take you to another website or app, which has its own terms and privacy policy.
App stores
If you install Pratnome from the App Store or Google Play, that store's terms apply as well. Apple and Google are not responsible for Pratnome or for supporting it.
Changes and ending
We may change, pause or end Pratnome or any of its features at any time. We may also update these terms; the new version is published on this page with a new date, and using Pratnome afterwards means you accept it. You can stop using Pratnome at any time.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the country where you live, and the mandatory consumer protections of that law always apply.
